Sheenut

So, Cindy Sheehan is back in Texas heckling George Bush's fenceline.

CRAWFORD - Love her or hate her, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan returned to Texas on Sunday with plans to resume her vigil near President Bush's ranch.

Sheehan, whose son Casey died in the Iraq war, recently bought 5 acres of land in Crawford that her supporters have designated Camp Casey Three, the third in a series of campgrounds they have occupied in protest of the war.

What's wrong, Cindy? Your summer vacation with Hugo Chavez fall through? Couldn't you find another state for your Summer Whine Camp? Better yet, how about finding another country, or perhaps even another epoch? (The Planck Epoch would be perfect!) Basically I think you've overstayed your welcome here in Texas. I wish you and Pretzeldunce Bush could find some nice ranch land in Utah or maybe Canada. You've both outstayed your welcome here. Please, just go and let your son rest in peace.

I'm impressed that she has the courage to remain in the face of outrageous slanderous remarks against her. You know that this is no longer about her son . . . this is about her absolute belief that she (and we) must stand up and declare our firm belief that our president has deceived us all.

Actually, I don't really disagree with anything you say here. She is definitely courageous. Hell, it takes guts to stand outside in Texas anytime in August.

I agree that this is no longer about her son, too. That's why I'm slightly bothered that there are plans to turn this campground into a park bearing her son's name. I suspect that it will not be respected, and his honorable service and sacrifice will be marred by the residents that have little respect or patience for Ms Sheehan's vocal and provocative protest.

Bush has deceived us, but harassing the residents of a small town in Texas won't accomplish very much. I suspect Ms Sheehan could find something more productive to do than this.
